Welcome to the SLICA way of painting

Let’s talk about tins.

Messy drippy can’t put the lid back on paint and varnish tins.

2020 has seen paint sales go through the roof as people have spent their time renovating and refurbishing their homes. And let’s not forget about all the chalk painters out there busily upcycling and breathing new life into some very tired pieces of furniture.

We all know how messy painting or pouring from a tin can be. Not only is there the annoying drip down the sides that results in the label becoming really hard to read, but there is also the time consuming clean-up of all that sneaky paint pooled in the channels of your rim, making it virtually impossible to ever fit the lid back on properly again.

A quick search shows google is rife with paint tips, tricks and hacks on how to help fix this DIY conundrum. Some include using rubber bands or scotch tape. Or there is always that old chestnut of putting holes in the rim tin to let the paint drip though back into the tin.

These may work perfectly well but only if you happen to have the right sized rubber band or the appropriate scotch or masking tape on hand every time you start your painting or varnishing projects. There is also the issue of what may happen if the rubber band or tape doesn’t actually stand up to the task at hand. The clean-up could be very, very messy …

Re-usable and available in several sizes, the easiest paint hack ever is to ask for a SLICA® when you purchase your paint or varnish.

Just take off the lid of your tin, pop on a SLICA® and paint, pour and stir knowing your tins will look as clean as the day you bought them when you finish.

Australian owned and manufactured, it will definitely become your best DIY friend.
